Abstract
Disclosed herein are floor tiles comprising, for instance, a substrate and a surface coating, wherein the surface coating comprises (i) a base formula comprising a glaze and (ii) particles comprising alumina trihydrate.
Claims17
A floor tile comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- a surface coating provided on an upper surface of the substrate, the surface coating comprising:
- a base formula;
- and
- particles,
- wherein the base formula comprises a glaze,
- wherein the particles comprise alumina trihydrate,
- wherein the base formula and the particles remain separate after firing,
- wherein the floor tile is a ceramic floor tile, and
- wherein the particles make up from 1% to 7% of the weight of the surface coating after firing.
