Abstract
Wireless communication devices are adapted to facilitate path loss estimations utilizing a synchronization signal block (SSB). According to one example, a wireless communication device can obtain a spatial relation reference signal. The wireless communication device may determine a SSB in quasi-colocation (QCL) with the received spatial relation reference signal. A path loss may be measured utilizing the determined SSB. The wireless communication device may conduct transmit power control based on the measured path loss associated with the determined SSB. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

A wireless communication device, comprising:
- a transceiver;
- a memory;
- and
- a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver and the memory, the processor configured to:
- receive, via the transceiver, a spatial relation reference signal;
- determine a synchronization signal burst (SSB) quasi-colocated with the received spatial relation reference signal by utilizing multi-hop quasi-colocation (QCL) tracing from the spatial relation reference signal to the SSB;
- and
- measure path loss associated with the determined SSB.
A method of wireless communication, comprising:
- receiving a spatial relation reference signal;
- determining a synchronization signal burst (SSB) quasi-colocated with the received spatial relation reference signal by utilizing multi-hop quasi-colocation (QCL) tracing from the spatial relation reference signal to the SSB;
- and
- measuring path loss associated with the determined SSB.
An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:
- means for receiving a spatial relation reference signal;
- means for determining a synchronization signal burst (SSB) quasi-colocated with the received spatial relation reference signal by utilizing multi-hop quasi-colocation (QCL) tracing from the spatial relation reference signal to the SSB;
- and
- means for measuring path loss associated with the determined SSB.
A non-transitory processor-readable storage medium storing processor-executable programming for causing a processing circuit to:
- obtain a spatial relation reference signal;
- determine a synchronization signal burst (SSB) quasi-colocated with the received spatial relation reference signal by utilizing multi-hop quasi-colocation (QCL) tracing from the spatial relation reference signal to the SSB;
- and
- estimate path loss associated with the determined SSB.
