Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving uplink information

A method performed by a base station, the method comprising:

• transmitting to a User Equipment (UE), in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, a parameter corresponding to a first type of Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH);
• and
• receiving from the UE, the first type of PUCCH, wherein:
• the first type of PUCCH is transmitted with a first sequence,
• the first sequence is generated by multiplying a second sequence with ejαn, 0≤n≤11,
• the second sequence is a base sequence R(n), and
• a value of cyclic shift α is determined based on a value of k, which is a value for determining the value of the cyclic shift α,
• wherein α=2πk/12, 0≤k≤11, the value of k corresponding to a two bit-pair of values of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-acknowledgement (ACK) information bits, and
• wherein each bit of the HARQ-ACK information bits is:
• 0 representing a negative acknowledgement (NACK), or 1 representing a positive acknowledgement (ACK).

A base station comprising:

• a receiver configured to receive from a User Equipment (UE), a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) with a first sequence;
• and
• a controller configured to interpret at least either a negative acknowledgement (NACK) or a positive acknowledgement (ACK) of values of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-acknowledgement (ACK) information bits from the first sequence, each bit of the HARQ-ACK information bits being:
• 0 representing a NACK, or 1 representing an ACK, wherein:
• the first sequence is a multiplication of a second sequence and ejαn, 0≤n≤11,
• the second sequence is a base sequence R(n),
• a value of cyclic shift α is determined based on a value of k, which is a value for determining the value of the cyclic shift α, and
• α=2πk/12, 0≤k≤11, the value of k corresponding to a two bit-pair of values of the HARQ-ACK information bits.

A base station comprising:

• a transmitter configured to transmit to a User Equipment (UE), in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, a parameter corresponding to a first type of Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH);
• and
• a receiver configured to receive from the UE, the first type of PUCCH, wherein:
• the first type of PUCCH is transmitted with a first sequence,
• the first sequence is generated by multiplying a second sequence with ejαn, 0≤n≤11,
• the second sequence is a base sequence R(n), and
• a value of cyclic shift α is determined based on a value of k, which is a value for determining the value of the cyclic shift α,
• wherein α=2πk/12, 0≤k≤11, the value of k corresponding to a two bit-pair of values of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ)-acknowledgement (ACK) information bits, and
• wherein each bit of the HARQ-ACK information bits is:
• 0 representing a negative acknowledgement (NACK), or 1 representing a positive acknowledgement (ACK).
