Abstract
An electronic device comprising a housing having a front and a back; a component embedded within the front or the back of the housing; and an array of light-generating sources (LGSs) deposited on a substrate disposed in the housing, the array of LGSs being disposed adjacent at least a portion of the component of the electronic device.

An electronic device comprising:
- a housing having a front and a back;
- a component embedded within the back of the housing, the component being an indicium;
- and
- an array of light-generating sources (LGSs) deposited on a first side of a substrate disposed on the housing, the substrate having an adhesive on a second side thereof opposite the first side, and the array of LGSs being disposed adjacent at least a portion of the indicium to illuminate the indicium when activated.

A device bearing an electrically illuminable component, the device comprising:
- a substrate having a first side opposite a second side, the first side including an adhesive thereon;
- an indicium, as the illuminable component, disposed on the second side of the substrate;
- and
- a plurality of unpackaged LEDs disposed adjacent the indicium so as to illuminate at least a portion of the indicium when one or more of the plurality of the unpackaged LEDs are activated.

An electrically illuminable device comprising:
- a flexible substrate having a first side opposite a second side, the first side including an adhesive, and the second side including a conductive trace;
- an indicium disposed on the second side of the substrate;
- and
- a plurality of LEDs connected to the conductive trace, and the plurality of LEDs being disposed adjacent the indicium to illuminate at least a portion of the indicium when one or more of the plurality of the LEDs are activated.
