Abstract
Verified snapshots are generated by obtaining, from one of a plurality of first nodes, a difference between a common data at a first time point and the common data at a second time point that is different from the first time point, generating a first snapshot of the common data at the first time point based on the difference, obtaining a hash of the common data at the first time point from one of the plurality of first nodes, and verifying the first snapshot at the first time point with the hash of the common data at the first time point.
Claims16
A computer program product having instructions embodied on a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium or programmable circuitry, the instructions executable by a processor or the programmable circuitry, respectively, to cause the processor or the programmable circuitry to perform operations comprising:
- in a ledger system maintaining distributed database information and world state information, verifying common data at a first time point obtained from two or more first nodes of a plurality of first nodes;
- obtaining, from at least one first node of the plurality of first nodes, a difference between the common data at the first time point and the common data at a second time point that is different from the first time point;
- after obtaining the difference, generating a first snapshot of the common data at the first time point based on the difference;
- obtaining a hash of the common data at the first time point from at least one of the plurality of first nodes;
- and
- verifying the first snapshot at the first time point with the hash of the common data at the first time point.
A system comprising:
- a ledger system having:
- at least one database for maintaining distributed database information and world state information;
- a plurality of first nodes;
- and
- a snapshot node including a processor or programmable circuitry executing instructions embodied in a memory device configured to:
- verify common data a first time point obtained from two or more first nodes of a plurality of first nodes;
- obtain, from at least one first node of the plurality of first nodes, a difference between the common data at the first time point and the common data at a second time point that is different from the first time point;
- after the difference is obtained, generate a first snapshot of the common data at the first time point based on the difference;
- obtain a hash of the common data at the first time point from at least one of the plurality of first nodes;
- and
- verify the first snapshot at the first time point with the hash of the common data at the first time point.
