The invention relates to a disc brake comprising a brake caliper (1) which covers a brake disc and brake pads (3) arranged on both sides of the brake disc in a pad shaft (6), each brake pad being assembled from a friction lining (4) and a rear plate (5), the front face of which is designed as a securing surface (16) for the friction lining (4) and the rear face of which is designed as a pressure surface for transmitting the braking pressure. A hold-down device (7) which runs transversely over the brake pads (3) is supported against the brake pads (3) in the direction of the disc brake axis (A). The hold-down device (7) is made from an elongated base (7C) in the form of a channel over the majority of the total length of the hold-down device, wherein a spring (9) rests against said base, and from lateral flanks (8A, 8B) arranged on the sides of the base (7C). The aim of the invention is to solve the problem of the structural narrowness between the components of the disc brake and the vehicle wheel rotating about the brake. This is achieved in that the hold-down device (7) has an S-shaped offset (11) which adjoins the base (7C) and an end portion (12) which adjoins the offset (11) towards the hold-down device end. The end portion (12) is equipped with a single- or double-part support surface (12A), by means of which the hold-down device (7) is supported against one of the brake pads (3) on the rear face of the brake pad rear plate (5).
A disk brake configured to be mounted on a vehicle and having a brake caliper (1) which has a brake disk and brake pads (3), wherein the brake pads (3) include, arranged on opposite sides of said brake disk, an outwardly arranged brake pad facing toward an outside of the vehicle and an inwardly arranged brake pad facing away from the outside of the vehicle, in a pad channel (6), which brake pads (3) are each composed of a friction pad (4) and of a backplate (5), wherein the backplate (5) comprises a circumferential contour comprised of an upper margin (21), a lower margin (22), and two side margins (23A, 23B), wherein the two side margins (23,24) connect a first end of the upper margin and a first end of the lower margin (21, 22) to each other and connect a second end of the upper margin (21) and a second end of the lower margin (22) to each other, respectively, wherein the backplate (5) comprises a front side formed as a fastening surface (16) for the friction pad (4) and further comprises a rear side formed as a pressure surface for the transmission of the brake pressure, and having a hold-down means (7) which leads transversely across the brake pads (3) and which is supported, in the direction of the disk brake axis (A), against the brake pads (3), wherein the hold-down means (7) is formed, over a major part of its overall length, as a channel composed of an elongate base (7C), against which a spring (9) is supported, and of side flanks (8A, 8B) arranged to the sides of the base (7C), wherein:
The disk brake as claimed in 2, wherein the projection (40) is, in plan view, of substantially tetragonal outline and comprises two corners (41) that are spaced apart from the rear side (17) of the backplate (5) and are rounded with corner radii (R) of at least 4 mm.
A brake pad for a disk brake, which brake pad is comprised of a friction pad (4), which is designed to make contact with the brake disk of the disk brake, and of a backplate (5), the front side of which is formed as a fastening surface (16) for the friction pad (4), the rear side (17) of which backplate is formed as a pressure surface for the transmission of the brake pressure, and the circumferential contour of which backplate is defined by an upper margin (21), a lower margin (22) and two side margins (23A, 23B) extending between the upper and the lower margin, wherein:
