Abstract
A brazing system has a first gas source, a second gas source, an enclosure, a brazing torch, and a control system configured to control a ratio of the first gas source and the second gas source.
Claims20
A brazing operation system, the system comprising:
- a programmable processor-based user interface having a first display region, a second display region, a third display region, and a fourth display region, where
- the user interface is programmed for the first display region to accept user inputs related to a first gas, including a first pressure and any one of a first micrometer valve setting and a first flow rate for the first gas,
- the user interface is programmed for the second display region to accept user inputs related to a second gas, including a second gas type, a second pressure and any one of a second micrometer valve setting and a second flow rate for the second gas,
- the user interface is programmed for the third display region to display a gas ratio between the first and second gases based on the user inputs in each of the first and second display regions, and
- the user interface is programmed for the fourth display region to display a flame type, a flame energy value, and a relative temperature of a flame to be created by the first and second gases;
- and
- a programmable processor-based control system coupled to the user interface,
- wherein the control system is programmed to determine either the first micrometer valve setting not input or the first flow rate not input based on the user inputs from the first display region, and programmed to determine either the second micrometer valve setting not input or the second flow rate not input based on the user inputs from the second display region,
- wherein the control system is further programmed to determine the gas ratio based on the user inputs from the first and second display regions and display the gas ratio in the third display region, and
- wherein the control system is programmed to determine each of the flame type, the flame energy value, and the relative temperature of a flame based on at least two of the user inputs from the first display region, the user inputs from the second display region, the gas ratio, and the second gas type, and display each of the flame type, the flame energy value, and the relative temperature of a flame in the fourth display region.

A brazing operation system, said system comprising:
- a programmable processor-based user interface programmed to:
- accept a first user input to set a first pressure for a first gas in response to the first user input, accept a second user input to set any one of a first micrometer valve setting and a first flow rate for the first gas in response to the second user input, accept a third user input to set a second pressure for a second gas in response to the third user input, and accept a fourth user input to set any one of a second micrometer valve setting and a second flow rate for the second gas in response to the fourth user input;
- and
- a programmable processor-based control system operatively connected to the user interface and programmed to determine either the first micrometer valve setting not input or the first flow rate not input based on the first and second user inputs, and to determine either the second micrometer valve setting not input or the second flow rate not input based on the third and fourth user inputs,
- wherein the user interface is programmed to display a gas ratio between the first and second gases based on the first, second, third, and fourth user inputs, and
- wherein the control system is further programmed to determine a flame type, a flame energy value, and a relative temperature of a flame to be created by the first and second gases, and
- wherein the user interface is further programmed to display the flame type, the flame energy value, and the relative temperature of the flame.
