Toner cartridge and toner supplying mechanism

A toner supplying mechanism comprising:

• (i) a receiving device including a receiving opening and a developing roller;
• and
• (ii) a toner cartridge detachably mountable to the receiving device, the toner cartridge including:
• (ii-i) a container including an accommodating portion for accommodating toner, and a discharge opening for discharging the toner from the accommodating portion to the receiving opening of the receiving device;
• and
• (ii-ii) an open/close member movable relative to the container between a closed position for causing a closing portion to close the discharge opening and an open position for causing the closing portion to open the discharge opening,
• wherein the open/close member includes a leading end portion and a trailing end portion which are on downstream and upstream sides of the open/close member with respect to a closing direction in which the open/close member moves to close the discharge opening, respectively,
• wherein the open/close member extends from the leading end portion to the trailing end portion in a range exceeding 180° of a circumference of the container, as the toner cartridge is seen in the longitudinal direction of the container,
• wherein the open/close member is provided with (i) a first engaging portion adjacent to the trailing end portion, with the first engaging portion including a projection projecting in a direction away from the container, and (ii) a second engaging portion adjacent to the leading end portion, with the second engaging portion including a projection projecting in a direction away from the container,
• wherein the first engaging portion is configured to receive a force for moving the open/close member relative to the container from the open position to the closed position by engaging with the receiving device when the toner cartridge is dismounted from the receiving device, and
• wherein the second engaging portion is configured to receive a force for moving the open/close member relative to the container from the closed position to the open position by engaging with the receiving device when the toner cartridge is mounted to the receiving device.
