Abstract
An arrow nock may have at least two distinct string guide impressions each designed to receive a bowstring to fire an arrow from a bow. The nock may be operable when connected and aligned with the arrow to cause the bowstring to be received within at least one of the string guide impressions to fire the arrow. As it is received within the string guide impression, the bowstring may cause the arrow to rotate about its longitudinal axis.
Claims13
A method comprising the steps of:
- (A) providing a nock with:
- (1) a circumference;
- (2) an attachment surface;
- and (3) a top portion having an axial centerline and first, second and third distinct string guide impressions;
- (B) providing each string guide impression with two circumferentially spaced walls separated by a floor that is curvilinear in shape;
- (C) providing each wall with:
- (1) an axially extending peak that is curvilinear in shape;
- and (2) first and second circumferentially spaced sides that are curvilinear in shape;
- (D) providing the nock to be useful with an associated arrow having a longitudinal axis and an associated bow having a bowstring;
- and
- (E) providing the nock to be operable to perform the following steps:
- (1) connecting the attachment surface to the associated arrow and aligning the nock with respect to the associated arrow;
- and (2) contacting the associated bowstring to any surface on the top portion of the nock;
- wherein step (E)(2) comprises the steps of:
- (1) contacting a curvilinear surface of the nock with the associated bowstring;
- and (2) positioning the associated bowstring within at least one of the string guide impressions to fire the associated arrow.

- wherein step (E)(2) comprises the steps of:
- (1) contacting the corresponding floor with the associated bowstring;
- and (2) simultaneously extending the associated bowstring axially beyond the corresponding wall peaks.
