Abstract
Disclosed herein are high melt flow polypropylene homopolymers generally characterized by a melt flow rate ranging from 200 g/10 min to 3000 g/10 min, a ratio of Mw/Mn ranging from 2 to 5, and a peak melting point ranging from 138° C. to 151° C. These polypropylene homopolymers can be produced by catalyst systems containing a racemic ansa-bis(indenyl)zirconocene compound, an activator-support, and an organoaluminum co-catalyst.
Claims23
A polypropylene homopolymer having a melt flow rate in a range from about 200 g/10 min to about 3000 g/10 min, a ratio of Mw/Mn in a range from about 2 to about 4.3, a ratio of Mz/Mw in a range from about 1.8 to about 3.5, and a peak melting point in a range from 138° C. to 151° C.;
- wherein the polypropylene homopolymer contains from about 10 parts per billion by weight of zirconium to about 150 parts per billion by weight of zirconium.
A polypropylene homopolymer having a melt flow rate in a range from about 200 g/10 min to about 3000 g/10 min, a ratio of Mw/Mn in a range from about 2 to about 5, a ratio of Mz/Mw in a range from about 1.8 to about 3.5, an isotacticity (mm) in a range from about 93% to about 98%, and a peak melting point in a range from 138° C. to 151° C.;
- wherein the polypropylene homopolymer contains from about 10 parts per billion by weight of zirconium to about 150 parts per billion by weight of zirconium;
- and
- wherein the polypropylene homopolymer contains fluorine, sulfur, or both.
A polypropylene homopolymer having a melt flow rate in a range from about 200 g/10 min to about 3000 g/10 min, a ratio of Mw/Mn in a range from about 2 to about 5, a ratio of Mz/Mw in a range from about 1.9 to about 2.8, a Mz in a range from about 80,000 g/mol to about 230,000 g/mol, and a peak melting point in a range from 138° C. to 151° C.;
- wherein the polypropylene homopolymer contains from about 10 parts per billion by weight of zirconium to about 150 parts per billion by weight of zirconium;
- and
- wherein the polypropylene homopolymer is produced using a metallocene-based catalyst system containing an activator-support, the activator-support comprising a solid oxide treated with an electron withdrawing anion.
