A recombinant camelina plant or cell comprising one or more polynucleotides encoding a Δ6-desaturase, a Δ6-elongase and a Δ5-desaturase operably linked with one or more regulatory sequences.

A recombinant camelina plant or cell comprising polynucleotides encoding an acyl-CoA-dependent Δ6-desaturase, a Δ6-elongase and a Δ5-desaturase operably linked with one or more regulatory sequences;
- wherein the Δ6-desaturase comprises an amino acid sequence that has at least 95% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO:20.
