- G06F 3/0481: based on specific properties of the displayed interaction object or a metaphor-based environment, e.g. interaction with desktop elements like windows or icons, or assisted by a cursor's changing behaviour or appearance
- G06F 3/04845: for image manipulation, e.g. dragging, rotation, expansion or change of colour
- G06F 3/04883: for inputting data by handwriting, e.g. gesture or text
- G06F 3/04886: by partitioning the display area of the touch-screen or the surface of the digitising tablet into independently controllable areas, e.g. virtual keyboards or menus
- G06F 2203/04803: Split screen, i.e. subdividing the display area or the window area into separate subareas
- G06F 2203/04808: Several contacts: gestures triggering a specific function, e.g. scrolling, zooming, right-click, when the user establishes several contacts with the surface simultaneously; e.g. using several fingers or a combination of fingers and pen
- G06F: ELECTRIC DIGITAL DATA PROCESSING (computer systems based on specific computational models G06N)

## Abstract

An electronic device includes: a controller and a display unit having a display screen configured for displaying an output of multi-windows on which executions of a plurality of applications are displayed. When rotation of the electronic device is detected, if frame rotation information of the multi-windows are different from each other, the controller controls a rotation of the frames of the multi-windows such that the frame rotation information respectively set for the multi-windows are maintained.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A portable communication device comprising:
a touchscreen display; and
a processor configured to:
display, via the touchscreen display, a first window associated with a first application and a second window associated with a second application concurrently, the displaying including displaying an image in the first window;
receive a gesture input with respect to the image while the first and second windows are concurrently displayed; and
based on the gesture input, rotate the image while the first and second windows are concurrently displayed, and a position and an orientation of the first window and the second window are unchanged,
wherein the gesture input for rotating the image includes a rotation gesture using multi-touches.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
identify, as the gesture input, a first touch input with respect to a first position of the first window and a second touch input with respect to a second position of the first window.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The portable communication device of claim 2, wherein the processor is configured to:
identify, as the first touch input, a drag input to form a curved path around the second position.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
display a handle user interface in the first window while the first and second windows are concurrently displayed, the handle user interface being rotatable based at least in part on the gesture input.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
perform the displaying of the first and second windows concurrently such that the first and second windows are not overlapped with each other.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
perform the displaying of the first window and the second window concurrently such that a first side of the first window and a second side of the second window are located next to each other.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
display a first menu corresponding to a first function and a second menu concurrently, the second menu corresponding to a second function to be activated while the first function is activated;
perform the displaying of the first window and the second window concurrently based at least in part on a determination that the first function is activated; and
perform the rotation of the image based at least in part on a determination that the second function is activated.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
as at least part of the displaying of the first window and the second window concurrently, output audio data corresponding to one application selected between the first and second applications.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
perform the rotating of the image such that a rotation angle of the image corresponds to a rotation angle of the gesture input.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
perform the rotation of the image such that the image is displayed in a portrait orientation while the second window is displayed in a landscape orientation.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to:
perform the rotation of the image based at least in part on a determination that a rotation angle of image falls into a specified range.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The portable communication device of claim 1, wherein the first application includes a video application and the second application includes an internet application, wherein the processor is configured to:
as at least part of the rotation of the image, reproduce a video in a portrait orientation via the video application while a content is displayed in a landscape orientation via the internet application.
