## Abstract

The present invention relates to compositions for treating cancer by having one or more activities of inhibiting cancer growth, inhibiting cancer cell invasion, and inhibiting cancer recurrence.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for treating cancer in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising an isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of: a) SEQ ID NO:14; b) SEQ ID NO: 1; and c) SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the cancer is a glioma.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the method results in at least one activity selected from the group consisting of inhibition of cancer cell invasion, inhibition of cancer cell growth and inhibiting cancer cell recurrence.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the tumor of the subject is characterized as-having activation of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR).

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the cancer is selected from the group consisting of a low grade glioma, a medium grade glioma, a high grade glioma, and human glioblastoma multiforme.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the cancer is a glioblastoma multiforme.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the therapeutically effective amount of the composition is administered to a subject by intra-tumoral injection.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the tumor of the subject is characterized as having activation of NOTCH.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the tumor of the subject is characterized as having activation of AKT.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the tumor of the subject is characterized as having activation of an extracellular matrix metallopeptidase.
