## Abstract

Provided herein are compounds that inhibit the phosphorylation of MAPK and thus are useful in compositions and methods for treating cancer and inflammatory disease.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A compound of Formula VIIIb1:
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof,
wherein R1b1 is 2-pyridyl;
R8b1 is H;
R9b1 is halo;
R6b1 and R7b1 are combined to form a cyclic structure including the nitrogen atom to which they are both attached.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A method of treating cancer, comprising administering to a subject the compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof of claim 1, wherein the cancer is a solid tumor, and said solid tumor is hepatocellular carcinoma, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, or glioblastoma.

The method of claim 2, wherein the solid tumor is pancreatic cancer.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A method of treating an inflammatory disease, comprising administering to the compound or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof of claim 1, wherein the inflammatory disease is inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett's esophagus, asbestosis, gingivitis, pancreatitis, or bronchitis.
