Abstract
Disclosed are halo substituted derivative compounds of sobetirome with improved pharmacological characteristics relative to sobetirome, pharmaceutical compositions that include those compounds and methods of treating diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders using those pharmaceutical compositions.
Claims25
A method of treating a neurodegenerative disorder, the method comprising administering an effective amount of a compound of Formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a subject in need thereof, thereby treating the neurodegenerative disorder, wherein R1 and R2 are both chloro, R3 is —NHR3b and R3b is methyl.
A unit dosage form comprising a compound of Formula (I):
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are independently fluoro, chloro, bromo, or iodo;
- R3 is —OH or —NR3aR3b;
- R3a is hydrogen or C1-6 alkyl;
- and
- R3b is C1-6 alkyl;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
