Abstract
A method of treating flowback and produced water includes transferring flowback and produced water to a chemical treatment apparatus, mixing treatment chemicals with the flowback and produced water, transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a weir tank comprising a first end, a second end, an internal chamber, and a plurality of baffles positioned throughout the internal chamber to induce turbulent flow, transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a first settling tank that provides laminar flow, and transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a second settling tank that provides laminar flow.
Claims17
A method of treating flowback and produced water, comprising:
- a) transferring flowback and produced water to a chemical treatment apparatus;
- b) mixing treatment chemicals with the flowback and produced water;
- c) transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a weir tank comprising a first end, a second end, an internal chamber, and a plurality of baffles positioned throughout the internal chamber to induce turbulent flow;
- d) transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a first settling tank that provides laminar flow;
- e) transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a second settling tank that provides laminar flow;
- and
- f) transferring the mixture of treatment chemicals and flowback and produced water to a third settling tank that provides laminar flow.
A method of treating flowback and produced water, comprising:
- mixing treatment chemicals with flowback and produced water to produce a fluid mixture;
- transferring the fluid mixture to a weir tank comprising a first end, a second end, an internal chamber, and a plurality of baffles positioned within the internal chamber, the plurality of baffles arranged to induce turbulent flow of the fluid mixture within the weir tank;
- transferring the fluid mixture from the weir tank to a first settling tank configured to induce laminar flow of the fluid mixture within the first settling tank;
- and
- transferring the fluid mixture from the first settling tank to at least one additional settling tank configured to induce laminar flow of the fluid mixture within the at least one additional settling tank.
