## Abstract

An intravascular sensor assembly including a flexible elongate member having a longitudinal axis (LA) is provided. The sensor assembly includes a first engagement feature proximal to a distal end of the flexible elongate member; a core member disposed inside a lumen of the flexible elongate member, the core member configured to translate within the flexible elongate member along the LA proximal to the first engagement feature; and a component holding a sensor circuit, the component fixedly secured to a distal end of the core member such that the mounting structure translates along the LA of the flexible elongate member with the core member. A system and a method for performing measurements using a sensor as above are also provided.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An intravascular sensor assembly comprising:
a flexible elongate member having a longitudinal axis (LA);
a first engagement feature proximal to a distal end of the flexible elongate member, wherein the first engagement feature comprises a projection;
a core member disposed inside a lumen of the flexible elongate member, the core member configured to translate within the flexible elongate member along the LA proximal to the first engagement feature; and
a component holding a sensor circuit, the component fixedly secured to a distal end of the core member such that the component translates along the LA of the flexible elongate member with the core member, wherein the component comprises a recess at a distal end, the recess configured to mate with the projection.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 1 further comprising a second engagement feature proximal to the first engagement feature, wherein:
the component holding the sensor circuit is configured to be positioned at any point between the second engagement feature and the first engagement feature.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 1 wherein the flexible elongate member comprises a plurality of openings spaced along the LA, proximal to the first engagement feature.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 1 wherein the flexible elongate member comprises a hypotube and at least one flexible element fixedly coupled to a distal portion of the hypotube.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 1 wherein the core member is configured to rotate along the LA.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 1 wherein the flexible elongate member comprises a polyimide tubing.

### Claim 7 (depends on 3)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 3 wherein the core member comprises a tubing having alignment marks corresponding to the plurality of openings.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The intravascular sensor assembly of claim 7 wherein the alignment marks are formed at a proximal end of the core member.
