Method for providing image data to a central unit

A method for providing medical image data from a vehicle including a medical imaging device to a central unit, comprising:

• acquiring the medical image data using the medical imaging device, the medical imaging device being a mobile communication device or being connected to a mobile communication device;
• determining bandwidth information relating to locally available bandwidths for radio networks prior to transfer of the medical image data;
• selecting at least one communication network from the radio networks currently available to the mobile communication device having the highest bandwidth available;
• selecting a communication location for transfer of the medical image data from the mobile communication device based on the bandwidth information determined prior to transfer of the medical image data,
• moving the mobile communication device to the selected communication location selected having the highest bandwidth available, and
• using the radio network or multiple separate radio networks selected to transfer the medical image data from the mobile communication device to the central unit.
