Abstract
High bandwidth push-cables for high speed image or video data transmission between a camera head and a cable reel or camera control unit (CCU) are disclosed.
Claims20
A pipe inspection system with a high bandwidth Ethernet video push cable, comprising:
- a camera head;
- a central push rod having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end operatively coupled to the camera head;
- an Ethernet cable circuit comprising;
- a plurality of conductive wires that are adapted to be electrically coupled to an Ethernet output of the camera head at or near the distal end of the push rod;
- a plurality of monofilaments positioned between the conductive wires, wherein the plurality of conductive wires are disposed helically about the push rod;
- and
- a cable drum reel, wherein the push rod and the Ethernet cable circuit form a single cable that can be stored and/or deployed from the cable drum reel.
