Information processing system and control method

A control method for causing a computer to function as an information processing system, including an image forming apparatus and a service server, for managing a local user authority for a user to use functions of the an image forming apparatus and a cloud user authority for the user to use functions of the service server, the method comprising:

• enabling the service server to receive a first request for performing print processing through a cooperation between the service server and the image forming apparatus by the user;
• enabling the service server to perform the print processing based on the first request when the validity of the cloud user authority is confirmed;
• invalidating a cloud user authority to use a print function in a case where the service server receives a request for invalidating a user authority to perform the print processing;
• confirming that the print processing based on the first request has been performed by the image forming apparatus;
• and
• invalidating a local user authority to use the print function in a case where the request for invalidating the user authority to perform the print processing is received by the service server,
• wherein the invalidating does not invalidate the local user authority in conjunction with invalidation of the cloud user authority, does not invalidate the local user authority until a notification indicating that the print processing is completed is received, and does invalidate the local user authority after the notification indicating that the print processing is completed is received.

An information processing system, including an image forming apparatus and a service server, for managing a local user authority for a user to use functions of the image forming apparatus and a cloud user authority for the user to use functions of the service server, the information processing system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• at least one memory, in communication with the one or more processors, having stored thereon instructions that are executable by the one or more processors, and cooperating with the one or more processors to act as:
• a second reception unit configured to enable the image forming apparatus to receive a second request for performing a scan function through a cooperation between the service server and the image forming apparatus by the user;
• a second execution unit configured to enable the image forming apparatus to perform scan processing based on the second request when the validity of the local user authority is confirmed;
• a third invalidation unit configured to invalidate a local user authority to use the scan function in a case where the image forming apparatus receives a request for invalidating a local user authority to perform the scan processing;
• a second confirmation unit configured to confirm that the scan processing based on the second request received by the second reception unit has been performed by the service server;
• and
• a fourth invalidation unit configured to invalidate a cloud user authority to use the scan function in a case where the request for invalidating the local user authority to perform the scan processing is received by image forming apparatus,
• wherein the fourth invalidation unit does not invalidate the cloud user authority in conjunction with invalidation of the local user authority, does not invalidate the cloud user authority until a notification indicating that the scan processing is completed is received from the second confirmation unit, and does invalidate the cloud user authority after the notification is received from the second confirmation unit.
