Abstract
An example of a channelizer includes a plurality of receiver circuits, an individual receiver circuit including a frequency demultiplexer that is configured to demultiplex a plurality of subchannels and a time-division demultiplexer coupled to the frequency demultiplexer, the time-division demultiplexer configured to time-division demultiplex the plurality of subchannels to provide a plurality of time-division outputs, an individual time-division output including portions of data from each of the plurality of subchannels; and a plurality of switch circuits, each configured to receive a different time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs from the individual receiver.
Claims22
A channelizer comprising:
- a plurality of receive circuits, an individual receive circuit including a frequency demultiplexer that is configured to demultiplex a plurality of subchannels and a time-division demultiplexer coupled to the frequency demultiplexer, the time-division demultiplexer configured to time-division demultiplex the plurality of subchannels to provide a plurality of time-division outputs, an individual time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs including portions of data from each of the plurality of subchannels;
- a plurality of switch circuits, each of the plurality of switch circuits configured to receive a different time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs from the individual receive circuit;
- and
- wherein an individual switch circuit of the plurality of switch circuits is configured to receive a time-division output from another receiver circuit of the plurality of receiver circuits from an individual sample period.
A channelizer comprising:
- a plurality of receive circuits, an individual receive circuit including a frequency demultiplexer that is configured to demultiplex a plurality of subchannels and a time-division demultiplexer coupled to the frequency demultiplexer, the time-division demultiplexer configured to time-division demultiplex the plurality of subchannels to provide a plurality of time-division outputs, an individual time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs including portions of data from each of the plurality of subchannels;
- and
- a plurality of switch circuits, each of the plurality of switch circuits configured to receive a different time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs from the individual receive circuit;
- wherein the frequency demultiplexer is configured to demultiplex a first number of subchannels and the plurality of switch circuits are configured to apply a matrix operator only on portions of data from a second number of subchannels that is a subset of the first number of
- subchannels, where the second number of subchannels is less than the first number of subchannels.
A system comprising:
- at least one gateway;
- a plurality of subscriber terminals;
- and
- a satellite configured for communication with the gateway via an uplink and configured for communication with the plurality of subscriber terminals via a downlink, the satellite including:
- a plurality of receive circuits, an individual receive circuit including a frequency demultiplexer that is configured to demultiplex a plurality of subchannels and a time-division demultiplexer coupled to the frequency demultiplexer, the time-division demultiplexer configured to time-division demultiplex the plurality of subchannels to provide a plurality of time-division outputs, an individual time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs including portions of data from each of the plurality of subchannels;
- a plurality of switch circuits, each of the plurality of switch circuits configured to receive a different time-division output of the plurality of time-division outputs from the individual receive circuit;
- and
- wherein an individual switch circuit of the plurality of switch circuits is configured to receive a time-division output from another receiver circuit of the plurality of receiver circuits from an individual sample period.
