Abstract
Hierarchical nanostructured cathode and anode are provided for an asymmetric supercapacitor, with the cathode including Co9S8—Ni3S2 nanoparticles anchored on CuMn2O4—NiMn2O4 nanosheet arrays and the anode including rhombus-like shaped MnFe2O4—ZnFe2O4 nanocrystals grown on a graphene-ink coated Ni foam. The asymmetric supercapacitor with the cathode and anode exhibits a large operating window, high energy density, and high cycling stability.
Claims6
An asymmetric supercapacitor, comprising:
- a binder-free cathode comprising a composite metal sulfide in the form of nanoparticles and a composite metal oxide in the form of nanosheet arrays, the nanoparticles being deposited on the nanosheet arrays;
- and a binder-free anode comprising one or more spinel ferrites deposited on a carbon-based material, the one or more spinel ferrites having the formula MFe2O4;
- where M is selected from the group consisting of Ca, Mg, Cu, Ni, Zn, Mn;
- wherein the composite metal sulfide comprises Co9S9—Ni3S2.
