Abstract
An information system is provided that enables stakeholders to define a secure data object that sets permissions, rules, and rights for an asset. The secure data object may be communicated to entities, such as computer hosts or hardware agents, and the entities are enable to act within the permissions, rules, and rights to conduct transactions and gather information as agents of the stakeholders. The secure data object may be received into a hardware agent attached to an asset, and the agent may have sufficient permission to monitor environmental conditions, adjust pricing, consummate a transaction, or communicate a report.
Claims58
An information system for enabling stakeholders to define secure data objects, comprising
- a hardware agent associated with a good or a transaction regarding a good, comprising:
- a processor;
- a memory;
- an event monitor;
- a communication circuit;
- a power source;
- and
- wherein the hardware agent is constructed to autonomously perform actions according to a current instance of a secure data object;
- a system for generating an initial secure data object comprising:
- an initial electronic contract that provides rules and conditions which determine actions of the hardware agent regarding the good or the transaction that the hardware agent will enforce;
- and
- an initial electronic registry of a plurality of stakeholders having an interest in the good or the transaction, the initial electronic registry storing each stakeholders' respective rights in the initial electronic contract that the hardware agent will enforce;
- wherein (1) the initial secure data object is stored in the memory of the hardware agent as the current instance of the secure data object, comprising a current instance of an electronic contract and a current instance of an electronic registry, and (2) the current instance of the electronic contract and the current instance of the electronic registry are immutable except by the hardware agent as allowed by the current instance of the electronic registry and the current instance of the electronic contract,
- wherein the hardware agent generates and stores a new current instance of the secure data object and performs actions according to a new current instance of an electronic contract as allowed by the respective rights of the stakeholders as set out in a new current instance of an electronic registry, and
- wherein the new current instance of the secure data object is generated in compliance with the current instance of the electronic contract and the current instance of the electronic registry of the current instance of the secure data object.
A hardware agent for a good or a transaction regarding a good, comprising:
- a processor;
- a memory;
- a communication circuit;
- a power source;
- and
- an initial secure data object, comprising:
- an initial electronic contract that provides rules and conditions which determine actions of the hardware agent regarding the good or the transaction that the hardware agent will enforce;
- and
- an initial electronic registry of a plurality of stakeholders having an interest in the good or the transaction, the electronic registry storing each stakeholders' respective rights in the initial electronic contract that the hardware agent will enforce;
- wherein the hardware agent autonomously performs actions according to a current instance of a secure data object,
- wherein (1) the initial secure data object is stored in the memory of the hardware agent as the current instance of the secure data object, comprising a current instance of an electronic contract and a current instance of an electronic registry and (2) the current instance of the electronic contract and the current instance of the electronic registry are immutable except by the hardware agent as allowed by the current instance of the electronic registry and the current instance of the electronic contract,
- wherein the hardware agent generates and stores a new current instance of the secure data object and performs actions according to a new current instance of an electronic contract as allowed by respective rights of the stakeholders as set out in a new current instance of an electronic registry, and
- wherein the new current instance of the secure data object is generated in compliance with the current instance of the electronic contract and the current instance of the electronic registry of the current instance of the secure data object.
A hardware agent for a good or a transaction regarding a good, comprising;
- a processor;
- a memory;
- a communication circuit;
- a power source;
- an initial secure data object comprising
- an initial electronic contract that provides rules and conditions which determine actions of the hardware agent regarding the good or the transaction that the hardware agent will enforce;
- and
- an initial electronic registry of a plurality of stakeholders having an interest in the good or the transaction, the electronic registry storing each stakeholder's respective rights in the initial electronic contract that the hardware agent will enforce;
- wherein the hardware agent autonomously performs actions according to a current instance of a secure data object,
- wherein (1) the initial secure data object is received from a parent hardware agent (2) stored in the memory of the hardware agent as the current instance of the secure data object, comprising a current instance of an electronic contract and a current instance of an electronic registry and (3) the current instance of the electronic contract and the current instance of the electronic registry are immutable except by the hardware agent as allowed by the current instance of the electronic registry and the current instance of the electronic contract,
- wherein the hardware agent generates and stores a new current instance of the secure data object and performs actions according to a new current instance of an electronic contract as allowed by respective rights of the stakeholders as set out in a new current instance of an electronic registry, and
- wherein the new current instance of the secure data object is generated in compliance with the current instance of the electronic contract and the current instance of the electronic registry of the current instance of the secure data object.
