Abstract
A method begins by a computing device allocating a plurality of tasks of an agricultural prescription for a farming geographic area to a fleet of farming equipment. While executing tasks of the plurality of tasks, the method continues with at least some of the fleet of farming equipment collecting task execution data. Based on the task execution data, the method continues with the computing device updating at least one of the agricultural prescription, the plurality of tasks, and the allocation of at least one task of the plurality of tasks.
Claims20
A method for customizing an agricultural prescription based on data records and weather data for a geographic region, the method comprising:
- determining one or more time periods within an agricultural lifecycle set forth in an agricultural prescription for a geographic region;
- obtaining, by a computer processor, data records via a computer network for the geographic region;
- wherein the data records are associated with the one or more time periods, and include one or more of:
- time stamped temperature levels, time stamped soil moisture levels, time stamped soil nutrient levels, or time stamped location information;
- obtaining weather data for the geographic region;
- based on the data records and the weather data, determining one or more growth factors for the one or more time periods;
- automatically applying, by a computer processor, a deterministic multi-factor function to the one or more growth factors to predict an accumulated growth metric for the geographic region;
- based on the accumulated growth metric for the geographic region, automatically estimating, by the computer processor, a harvest-ready time for a probable harvest in the geographic region;
- and
- based on the harvest-ready time and the agricultural prescription, automatically generating, by the computer processor, an updated agricultural prescription that prescribes steps for attaining the probable harvest at the harvest-ready time
- transmitting the updated agricultural prescription to one or more farming machines over a computer network so that each of the farming machines has access to the updated agricultural prescription and uses the updated agricultural prescription to automatically perform one or more steps of the agricultural lifecycle to cultivate the geographic region.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media storing one or more computer instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform:
- determining one or more time periods within an agricultural lifecycle set forth in an agricultural prescription for a geographic region;
- obtaining, by a computer processor, data records via a computer network for the geographic region;
- wherein the data records are associated with the one or more time periods, and include one or more of:
- time stamped temperature levels, time stamped soil moisture levels, time stamped soil nutrient levels, or time stamped location information;
- obtaining weather data for the geographic region;
- based on the data records and the weather data, determining one or more growth factors for the one or more time periods;
- automatically applying, by a computer processor, a deterministic multi-factor function to the one or more growth factors to predict an accumulated growth metric for the geographic region;
- based on the accumulated growth metric for the geographic region, automatically estimating, by the computer processor, a harvest-ready time for a probable harvest in the geographic region;
- and
- based on the harvest-ready time and the agricultural prescription, automatically generating, by the computer processor, an updated agricultural prescription that prescribes steps for attaining the probable harvest at the harvest-ready time;
- transmitting the updated agricultural prescription to one or more farming machines over a computer network so that each of the farming machines has access to the updated agricultural prescription and uses the updated agricultural prescription to automatically perform one or more steps of the agricultural lifecycle to cultivate the geographic region.
