System and method for reliable extraction and mapping of data to and from customer forms

A system configured to perform operations comprising:

• determining a selected document type based on a geolocation or a business type associated with a system user;
• receiving a document having the selected document type and including a plurality of custom fields different from a pool of fields previously stored by the system;
• selecting a personalized subset of fields from the pool of fields based on the geolocation or business type and the selected document type;
• determining, for each respective custom field of the plurality of custom fields, a probabilistic relevance between the respective custom field and each field of the personalized subset of fields based on a set of characteristics associated with the respective custom field;
• mapping each of the plurality of custom fields to a respective field of the personalized subset of fields having a highest determined probabilistic relevance to the respective custom field;
• generating a custom form template incorporating the mapping;
• and
• populating fields within one or more documents associated with the system user based on the custom form template.
