Abstract
A system and method for transferring annotations associated with a media file. An annotation associated with a media file is indexed to a first instance of that media file. By comparing features of the two instances, a mapping is created between the first instance of the media file and a second instance of the media file. The annotation can be indexed to the second instance using the mapping between the first and second instances. The annotation can be processed (displayed, stored, or modified) based on the index to the second instance.
Claims21
A method for providing annotations to a user of a client device in conjunction with a media file, the method comprising:
- causing a video including a frame to be presented on a display associated with the client device;
- determining whether an annotation definition of at least a portion of the frame being presented on the display is associated with an annotation;
- and
- providing the annotation corresponding to the portion of the frame in conjunction with the frame of the media file.
A system for providing annotations to a user of a client device in conjunction with a media file, the system comprising:
- a hardware processor that is configured to:
- cause a video including a frame to be presented on a display associated with the client device;
- determine whether an annotation definition of at least a portion of the frame being presented on the display is associated with an annotation;
- and
- provide the annotation corresponding to the portion of the frame in conjunction with the frame of the media file.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method for providing annotations to a user of a client device in conjunction with a media file, the method comprising:
- causing a video including a frame to be presented on a display associated with the client device;
- determining whether an annotation definition of at least a portion of the frame being presented on the display is associated with an annotation;
- and
- providing the annotation corresponding to the portion of the frame in conjunction with the frame of the media file.
