Abstract
A storage device and a method of operating the storage device include various memory devices. The storage device includes a plurality of memory devices each including at least one or more read cache memory blocks and a plurality of main memory blocks; and a memory controller configured to spread and store data stored in an identical memory device, having a read count representing a number of read requests and exceeding a threshold value, among data stored in the plurality of main memory blocks, to the at least one or more read cache memory blocks included in each of the plurality of memory devices.
Claims15
A storage device comprising:
- a plurality of memory devices each including one or more read cache memory blocks and a plurality of main memory blocks;
- and
- a memory controller configured to store read counts for logical block addresses corresponding to data stored in the plurality of main memory blocks and to distribute cache data stored in one memory device among the plurality of memory devices to the one or more read cache memory blocks included in the plurality of memory devices based on read counts for logical block addresses corresponding to the cache data,
- wherein the read counts for the logical block addresses corresponding to the cache data exceed a threshold value, respectively.
A method for operating a storage device including a plurality of memory devices coupled to one of channels and each including one or more read cache memory blocks and a plurality of main memory blocks, and a memory controller configured to control the plurality of memory devices, the method comprising:
- storing read counts for logical block addresses corresponding to data stored in the plurality of main memory blocks;
- and
- distributing cache data stored in one memory device among the plurality of memory devices to the one or more read cache memory blocks included in the plurality of memory devices based on read counts for logical block addresses corresponding to the cache data,
- wherein the read counts for the logical block addresses corresponding to the cache data exceed a threshold value, respectively.
