Abstract
A virtual machine management device includes one or more memories, and one or more processors coupled to one or more memories and the one or more processors configured to calculate, for each of a plurality of hosts, a first amount of resources including both first resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source and second resources available for a new virtual machine, perform selection of a first host from among the plurality of hosts in accordance with the calculated first amount, and deploy a first new virtual machine in the first host.
Claims14
A virtual machine management device comprising:
- one or more memories;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to one or more memories and the one or more processors configured to:
- calculate, for each of a plurality of hosts, a first amount of resources including both first resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source and second resources available for a new virtual machine,
- store a first amount of resources in a memory among the one or more memories,
- perform selection of a first host from among the plurality of hosts in accordance with the stored first amount, and
- deploy a first new virtual machine transferred from a target host on which maintenance is started in the first host,
- when the maintenance of the target host is completed, return the first new virtual machine to the target host,
- calculate, for each of a plurality of hosts excluding the first host, a second amount of resources including second resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source, and
- update, in the memory, the first amount of resources to the second amount of resources.
A virtual machine management method executed by a computing system, the virtual machine management method comprising:
- calculating, for each of a plurality of hosts, a first amount of resources including both first resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source and second resources available for a new virtual machine;
- storing a first amount of resources in a memory;
- selecting a first host from among the plurality of hosts in accordance with the stored first amount;
- and
- deploying a first new virtual machine transferred from a target host on which maintenance is started in the first host,
- when the maintenance of the target host is completed, returning the first new virtual machine to the target host;
- calculating, for each of a plurality of hosts excluding the first host, a second amount of resources including second resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source;
- and
- updating, in the memory, the first amount of resources to the second amount of resources.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a computer, the instructions comprising:
- one or more instructions for calculating, for each of a plurality of hosts, a first amount of resources including both first resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source and second resources available for a new virtual machine;
- one or more instructions for storing a first amount of resources in a memory;
- one or more instructions for selecting a first host from among the plurality of hosts in accordance with the stored first amount;
- and
- one or more instructions for deploying a first new virtual machine transferred from a target host on which maintenance is started in the first host,
- when the maintenance of the target host is completed, one or more instructions for returning the first new virtual machine to the target host;
- one or more instructions for calculating, for each of a plurality of hosts excluding the first host, a second amount of resources including second resources allocated to a virtual machine migrated from a migration source;
- and
- one or more instructions for updating, in the memory, the first amount of resources to the second amount of resources.
