Abstract
A device that includes an input interface that receives a correlithm object at a first time. The device further includes a memory operable to store the received correlithm object and a plurality of correlithm object values. The device further includes a processor operable to determine a Hamming distance between the correlithm object received at the input interface and each of the correlithm object values stored in the memory. The process is further operable to store the correlithm object received at the input interface in the memory if any of the determined Hamming distances are within a predetermined threshold and an output interface communicates the correlithm object at a second time later than the first time.
Claims17
A device configured to emulate a delay node in a correlithm object processing system using correlithm objects, the device comprising:
- an input interface that receives a correlithm object at a first time, wherein the correlithm object comprises an n-bit digital word of binary values;
- a memory operable to store a plurality of correlithm object values;
- a processor operable to:
- determine a Hamming distance between the correlithm object received at the input interface and each of the correlithm object values stored in the memory, wherein the received correlithm object and each of the stored correlithm object values comprise different data samples having the same or different data types and/or formats and the determined Hamming distances comprise n-dimensional distances between the data samples;
- and
- store the correlithm object received at the input interface in the memory if any of the determined Hamming distances are within a predetermined threshold;
- and an output interface communicates the received correlithm object, at a second time which is a delay time later than the first time;
- wherein the device quantifies a degree of similarity between (a) the different data samples having the same or different data types and/or formats, (b) different facial images, or (c) different images of people, by:
- using the results of the emulation performed by the delay node;
- and
- performing non-binary comparisons between the data samples using categorical numbers;
- wherein the degree of similarity indicates how similar the different data samples are to each other.
A method for emulating a delay node in a correlithm object processing system using correlithm objects, the method comprising:
- storing a plurality of correlithm object values;
- receiving a correlithm object at a first time, wherein the correlithm object comprises an n- bit digital word of binary values;
- determining a Hamming distance between the received correlithm object and each of the stored correlithm object values, wherein the received correlithm object and each of the stored correlithm object values comprise different data samples having the same or different data types and/or formats and the determined Hamming distances comprise n-dimensional distances between the data samples;
- storing the received correlithm object if any of the determined Hamming distances are within a predetermined threshold;
- and
- communicating the received correlithm object, at a second time which is a delay time later than the first time;
- quantifying a degree of similarity between (a) the different data samples having the same or different data types and/or formats, (b) different facial images, or (c) different images of people, by:
- using the results of the emulation performed by the delay node;
- and
- performing non-binary comparisons between the data samples using categorical numbers;
- wherein the degree of similarity indicates how similar the different data samples are to each other.
A device configured to emulate a delay node in a correlithm object processing system using correlithm objects, the device comprising:
- an input interface that receives a first correlithm object at a first time, wherein the first correlithm object comprises an n-bit digital word of binary values;
- a memory operable to store a plurality of correlithm object values;
- a processor operable to:
- determine a Hamming distance between the first correlithm object and each of the correlithm object values stored in the memory, wherein the first correlithm object and each of the stored correlithm object values comprise different data samples having the same or different data types and/or formats and the determined Hamming distances comprise n-dimensional distances between the data samples;
- and
- store the first correlithm object received at the input interface in the memory if any of the determined Hamming distances are within a predetermined threshold;
- an output interface communicates the first correlithm object at a second time which is a delay time later than the first time;
- and
- a state input interface that receives the first correlithm object from the output interface as feedback at a third time later than the second time;
- wherein the output interface continues to communicate the first correlithm object until a time delay after the input interface receives a second correlithm object;
- wherein the device quantifies a degree of similarity between (a) the different data samples having the same or different data types and/or formats, (b) different facial images, or (c) different images of people, by:
- using the results of the emulation performed by the delay node;
- and
