Abstract
A fixing unit includes a heater, a fixing member, a press roller, a sensor, a processor, and a memory. The fixing member is heated by heat generated by the heater. The press roller forms a nip portion through which a medium having a fixing target material transferred thereto passes, between the press roller and the fixing member. The sensor measures a temperature of the fixing member. The processor controls the temperature of the fixing member so as to be a target value by acquiring the temperature detected by the sensor in a first period, and also acquires the temperature detected by the sensor in a second period shorter than the first period. The memory records the temperature acquired in the second period.
Claims20
An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- an image forming unit configured to form an image using an image forming material;
- a fixing unit configured to heat the image forming material on a medium;
- a sensor that detects a temperature of the fixing unit;
- a processor configured to control a heater based on a temperature detected by the sensor in a first time period, and acquire the temperature detected by the sensor in a second time period shorter than the first time period;
- and
- a memory that records the temperature acquired in the second time period.
An image forming method, comprising:
- forming an image using an image forming material;
- heating the image forming material on a medium;
- detecting a temperature of the heating;
- controlling a heater based on a temperature detected in a first time period;
- acquiring a temperature detected in a second time period shorter than the first time period;
- and
- recording the temperature acquired in the second time period.
An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- an image forming unit that forms an image using an image forming material;
- a fixing unit that heats the image forming material on a medium;
- a sensor that detects a temperature of the fixing unit;
- a processor that
- controls a heater based on a temperature detected by the sensor in a first time period,
- acquires the temperature detected by the sensor in a second time period shorter than the first time period,
- determines that the temperature acquired in the second time period is an abnormal value, and
- outputs a signal notifying if the abnormal value occurs;
- and
- a memory that records the temperature acquired in the second time period.
