Abstract
A method and apparatus are disclosed which enable the analysis of a break in a vehicle glazing panel without the attendance of a technician, the method and apparatus utilize capturing an image of the break and processing the image of the break to enable the suitability for repair or replacement of the glazing panel to be determined.
Claims7
A break analysis method for analyzing breaks in a vehicle glazing panel, the method comprising:
- capturing an image of a break in the vehicle glazing panel;
- and
- processing the image of the break, wherein the method comprises:
- identifying a center of the break and one or more legs of the break;
- generating a scaling factor indicating the relative length of the one or more legs of the break compared to the size of the center of the break;
- and
- estimating the length of the one or more legs of the break using the scaling factor, wherein estimating the length of the one or more legs of the break comprises multiplying the scaling factor by a predetermined value.
