Abstract
A web substrate having at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof is disclosed. The surface has surface area comprising at least about 0.2 percent line embossments and a ratio of line embossment area to dot embossment area greater than 1.5.
Claims20
A web substrate having at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof, wherein said surface has surface area comprising line embossments having a line embossment area, and dot embossments having a dot embossment area, wherein said surface area has at least about 0.2 percent line embossments and wherein the ratio of line embossment area to dot embossment area is greater than 1.5, wherein the line embossments at least partially surround the dot embossments, and wherein the web substrate forms a fibrous structure exhibiting a total dry tensile strength of greater than about 59 g/cm and an initial total wet tensile strength of less than about 78 g/cm.
A web substrate having at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof, wherein said surface has a regular and repeating embossing pattern disposed thereon, said embossing pattern having line embossments having a line embossment area, and dot embossments having a dot embossment area, wherein said embossing pattern has a ratio of line embossment area to dot embossment area of greater than 1.5, wherein the web substrate further comprises a second ply that is not embossed, and wherein the at least one embossed ply and the second ply form a fibrous structure exhibiting an initial total wet tensile strength of greater than about 118 g/cm.
A web substrate having at least one embossed ply having a surface thereof, wherein said surface has an irregular and asymmetric embossing pattern disposed thereon, said embossing pattern having line embossments having a line embossment area, and dot embossments having a dot embossment area, wherein said embossing pattern has a ratio of line embossment area to dot embossment area of greater than 1.5, wherein the web substrate further comprises a second ply that is not embossed, and wherein the at least one embossed ply and the second ply form a fibrous structure exhibiting a total dry tensile strength of greater than about 59 g/cm.
