Abstract
Silane-crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising a polyolefin having hydrolyzable silane groups, an acidic silanol condensation catalyst, and a phenolic antioxidant. The phenolic antioxidant comprises two sulfur-containing radicals, one located at the ortho position and the other located at the para position relative to the hydroxyl group of the phenol. Such crosslink able polymeric compositions can be employed in various articles of manufacture, such as in the wire and cable industry.
Claims9
A silane-crosslinkable polymeric composition, comprising:
- a polyolefin having hydrolyzable silane groups;
- an acidic silanol condensation catalyst;
- and
- a phenolic antioxidant having the following structure:
- wherein X1 and X2 are individual sulfur-containing radicals,
- wherein R1, R2, and R3 are individually hydrogen atoms or hydrocarbyl radicals optionally containing one or more heteroatoms,
- further comprising an ester-functionalized thioether.
