Abstract
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a compound having excellent antibacterial activity against mycobacterium tuberculosis, multidrug-resistant tuberculosis bacteria, and/or non-tuberculous acid-fast bacteria. A compound represented by formula [I]: (in the formula, each symbol is as described in the attached specification), or a salt thereof can be used to diagnose, prevent, and/or treat tuberculosis.

A compound of Formula [I] or a salt thereof:
- wherein Ring A is an optionally substituted hydrocarbon ring or optionally substituted heterocycle, provided that Ring A is not carbostyril or dihydrocarbostyril;
- R1 is halogen, —CN, —NO2, —OH, —CHO, —COOH, —SH, —SO2H, —SO3H, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl, optionally substituted C2-6 alkenyl, optionally substituted C2-6 alkynyl, optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy, optionally substituted C2-6 alkenyl-O—, optionally substituted C2-6 alkynyl-O—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-CO—, optionally substituted C2-6 alkenyl-CO—, optionally substituted C2-6 alkynyl-CO—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-COO—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy-CO—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-S—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-SO—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-SO2—, optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkyl, optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkenyl, optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkoxy, optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkenyl-O—, optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkyl-CO—, optionally substituted C3-6 cycloalkoxy-CO—, optionally substituted C6-14 aryl, optionally substituted C6-14 aryl-O—, optionally substituted C6-14 aryl-CO—, optionally substituted C6-14 aryl-O—CO—, optionally substituted C7-17 aralkyl, optionally substituted C7-17 aralkyl-O—, optionally substituted C7-17 aralkyl-CO—, optionally substituted C7-17 aralkyl-O—CO—, amino, wherein the amino group may be optionally substituted with the same or different at least one group of —CHO, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-CO—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy-CO—, or optionally substituted C6-14 aryl-CO—, or —CONH2, wherein the amino group may be optionally substituted with the same or different at least one group of —CHO, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl, optionally substituted C1-6 alkyl-CO—, optionally substituted C1-6 alkoxy-CO—, or optionally substituted C6-14 aryl-CO—;
- p is an integer of 0 to 4;
- and
- q is an integer of 1 to 5;
- provided that when q is 2 or more, then each of R1 may be different from each other.
