Soil densification system and method

An apparatus for densification of a soil mass, the apparatus comprising:

• a. an air delivery primary tube having an upper end and a lower end, the primary tube further comprising,
• i) an open end disposed at the lower end of the primary tube;
• or
• ii) a plurality of ports formed along a length of the primary tube,
• b. a closure mechanism disposed within an airflow flowing inside the primary tube, operable to block airflow out of the primary tube while disposed in a soil mass, provided to the open lower end or the plurality of ports repeatedly operable between an open position and a closed position;
• and,
• c. a pressurized air system connected to the primary tube, wherein the pressurized air system comprises a stored volume of air connected to an air source, the pressurized air system delivering controlled air bursts into the primary tube and delivering controlled air bursts into the soil mass,
• and wherein the closure mechanism is transitioned to the open position by
• i) a build up of pressurized air in the primary tube provided by the pressurized air system which triggers a flap mechanism, or
• ii) a rod provided inside the primary tube and mechanically connected to the closure mechanism for actuated opening and closing the closure mechanism.
