Abstract
A host cell capable of expressing a polypeptide having β-galactosidase and/or transgalactosylating activity and which host cell is modified to be cellulase, mannanase and pectinase deficient.
Claims7
A host cell comprising an expression vector comprising a nucleic acid encoding a polypeptide having β-galactosidase and/or transgalactosylating activity wherein said host cell is modified to be cellulase, mannanase and pectinase deficient and wherein said polypeptide comprises an amino acid sequence having at least 90% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO:
- 1, and wherein said polypeptide consists of at most 980 amino acid residues, wherein said host cell is Bacillus subtilis or Bacillus licheniformis and wherein said cellulase is an endoglucanase.
