Abstract
An ion transfer device that receives ions from an ion inlet and delivers the ions to an ion outlet of the ion transfer device, the ion transfer device including: a plurality of electrodes disposed at least in part inside an enclosure such that one or more electrodes of the plurality of electrodes are configured to be flexible or flexibly connected to each other, and such that the ion transfer device is configured to be flexible and is configured to form one or more curvatures while transferring the ions.
Claims64
An ion transfer device that receives ions from an ion inlet and delivers the ions to an ion outlet of the ion transfer device, the ion transfer device comprising:
- a plurality of electrodes disposed at least in part inside an enclosure, one or more electrodes of the plurality of electrodes being configured to be flexible, or flexibly connected to each other,
- wherein the ion transfer device is configured to be flexible and is configured to form one or more curvatures while transferring the ions.
An ion analysis system comprising:
- an ion source configured to produce ions;
- an ion transfer device having a plurality of electrodes disposed at least in part inside an enclosure, one or more electrodes of the plurality of electrodes are configured to be flexible or flexibly connected to each other, wherein the ion transfer device is configured to be flexible and is configured to form one or more curvatures while transferring the ions;
- an analyzer configured to separate the ions;
- and
- at least one a detector configured to detect the separated ions.
A method comprising:
- transferring ions with an ion transfer device having a plurality of electrodes disposed at least in part inside an enclosure, one or more electrodes of the plurality of electrodes are configured to be flexible or flexibly connected to each other, and
- wherein the ion transfer device is configured to be flexible and is configured to form one or more curvatures while transferring the ions.
A probe comprising:
- at least one ion source configured to produce ions,
- wherein the probe is connected to an ion transfer device, the ion transfer device comprising:
- a plurality of electrodes disposed at least in part inside an enclosure, one or more electrodes of the plurality of electrodes being configured to be flexible or flexibly connected to each other, wherein the ion transfer device is configured to be flexible and is configured to form one or more curvatures while transferring the ions.
