Method of producing a composite multi-layered printed absorbent article

A method of producing a multi-layered absorbent article, the method comprising the steps of:

• a. providing an absorbent article converting line;
• b. supplying a first precursor material to the converting line;
• c. printing a first composition to the first precursor material;
• d. supplying a second precursor material to the converting line;
• e. producing a composite substrate from the first and second precursor materials;
• f. supplying a lower substrate to the converting line;
• g. printing a second composition to the lower substrate;
• h. combining the composite substrate with the lower substrate to produce a laminate web;
• and
• i. cutting the laminate web into individual absorbent articles, wherein the method of printing of the first composition and the second composition is via contact printing or non-contact printing, and wherein the method of printing of the first composition is different than the method of printing of the second composition.
