Facilitating model-driven automated cell allocation in fifth generation (5G) or other advanced networks

A method, comprising:

• determining, by a system comprising a processor, a solution to an integer programming problem based on input data associated with a network inventory and configuration data for network equipment;
• determining, by the system, respective cell identities and respective root sequence index assignments for the network equipment based on the solution to the integer programming problem;
• and
• implementing, by the system, a deployment of the respective cell identities and respective root sequence index assignments at the network equipment, wherein the implementing comprises, based on a first determination that a first network equipment and a second network equipment are adjacent to a third network equipment and a second determination that the first network equipment is not adjacent to the second network equipment,
• assigning, to the first network equipment, a first cell identity and a first root sequence index assignment, and
• assigning, to the second network equipment, a second cell identity, different than the first cell identity, and a second root sequence index assignment, different than the first root sequence index assignment.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:

• implementing an allocation procedure for a communication network based on an inventory of base stations in the communication network and respective configuration data of the base stations, wherein the allocation procedure is implemented as an integer programming problem;
• generating an assignment list for the base stations, wherein the assignment list comprises respective physical cell identities and respective root sequence indexes for the base stations, wherein the generating comprises identifying a first group of neighboring base stations of the base stations determined to be adjacent neighbors and a second group of the base stations that share a same neighbor base station and are determined not to be adjacent neighbors;
• and
• implementing the assignment list at the base stations.
