Abstract
Organizing a synchronous communication session can include determining, using a processor of a data processing system, a context responsive to detecting a trigger event. The context specifies a foreground application executing within the data processing system. Candidate participants can be determined from the context. A user interface is displayed separate from the foreground application. The user interface lists the candidate participants. Further, responsive to a user input received within the user interface, an invite to the candidate participants is sent. The invite specifies access information for the synchronous communication session.
Claims20
A computer hardware system associated with a user, comprising:
- a hardware processor configured to initiate the following executable operations:
- detecting the user donning a wearable peripheral device communicatively linked with the computer hardware system;
- retrieving, based upon the detecting, an email currently being displayed by an email application executing within the computer hardware system;
- displaying, within a user interface separate from the email application, a list of candidate participants identified from the email;
- and
- sending, to at least one of the candidate participants selected from within the user interface, an invite for a synchronous communication session.
A computer program product comprising:
- a computer readable storage medium having program code stored thereon,
- the program code, which when executed by a computer hardware system associated with a user, causes the computer hardware system to perform:
- detecting the user donning a wearable peripheral device communicatively linked with the computer hardware system;
- retrieving, based upon the detecting, an email currently being displayed by an email application executing within the computer hardware system;
- displaying, within a user interface separate from the email application, a list of candidate participants identified from the email;
- and
- sending, to at least one of the candidate participants selected from within the user interface, an invite for a synchronous communication session.
