Abstract
A DMA (Direct Memory Access) transfer apparatus acquires information including a transfer source address and a transfer destination address based on a received transfer instruction, selects whether to perform first checksum calculation for data from an area of a memory corresponding to the transfer source address or perform second checksum calculation different from the first checksum calculation, and transfers data obtained via the checksum calculation selected in the selecting to an area of the memory corresponding to the transfer destination address.
Claims14
A communication apparatus comprising:
- a transmission buffer including a plurality of areas;
- a transfer unit configured to transfer data to the transmission buffer and, in each of the plurality of areas in which the transferred data is stored, calculate a sum corresponding to the data stored in each area;
- a first generation unit configured to, using the data transferred to the transmission buffer by the transfer unit as an input, execute generation processing of a plurality of packets based on the input data;
- a determination unit configured to determine whether each of the sums calculated by the transfer unit is usable in a case where the first generation unit generates the plurality of packets;
- a decision unit configured to decide a data length to be input to the first generation unit based on a determination result by the determination unit such that the first generation unit can execute the generation processing while separating data stored in an area for which the sum is determined to be usable and data stored in an area for which the sum is determined to be unusable;
- and
- a control unit configured to control such that in the data transferred to the transmission buffer by the transfer unit, data of the data length decided by the decision unit is input to the first generation unit.
A method of controlling a communication apparatus configured to generate and transmit a plurality of packets, comprising:
- transferring data to a transmission buffer including a plurality of areas and, in each of the plurality of areas in which the transferred data is stored, calculating a sum corresponding to the data stored in each area;
- determining whether each of the calculated sums is usable in a case where generating the plurality of packets;
- deciding a data length to be input to processing of generating the plurality of packets based on a result of the determination such that the plurality of packets are generated while separating data stored in an area for which the sum is determined to be usable and data stored in an area for which the sum is determined to be unusable;
- and
- using, in the data transferred to the transmission buffer, data of the decided data length as an input, executing the processing of generating the plurality of packets based on the input data.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a computer program for causing a computer to execute a method of controlling a communication apparatus configured to generate and transmit a plurality of packets, the method comprising:
- transferring data to a transmission buffer including a plurality of areas and, in each of the plurality of areas in which the transferred data is stored, calculating a sum corresponding to the data stored in each area;
- determining whether each of the calculated sums is usable in a case where generating the plurality of packets;
- deciding a data length to be input to processing of generating the plurality of packets based on a result of the determination such that the plurality of packets are generated while separating data stored in an area for which the sum is determined to be usable and data stored in an area for which the sum is determined to be unusable;
- and
- using, in the data transferred to the transmission buffer, data of the decided data length as an input, executing the processing of generating the plurality of packets based on the input data.
