Abstract
An apparatus includes a radio frequency (RF) circuit to transmit or receive RF signals, and a partitioned antenna structure. The partitioned antenna structure includes a first portion of a resonator and a first portion of a radiator. The first portion of the resonator comprises less than an entire resonator. The first portion of the radiator comprises less than an entire radiator.

A radio frequency (RF) apparatus having a partitioned antenna structure comprising a resonator and a radiator, the RF apparatus comprising:
- a module, comprising:
- an RF circuit to transmit or receive RF signals;
- a first portion of the resonator, wherein the first portion of the resonator is coupled to the RF circuit;
- and
- a first portion of the radiator;
- and
- a first substrate coupled to the module, the first substrate comprising:
- a second portion of the resonator, wherein the second portion of the resonator is fabricated externally to the module;
- and
- a second portion of the radiator, wherein the second portion of the radiator is fabricated externally to the module.
A radio frequency (RF) apparatus having a partitioned antenna structure comprising a resonator and a radiator combined into a combined resonator/radiator, the RF apparatus comprising:
- a module, comprising:
- an RF circuit to transmit or receive RF signals;
- and
- a first portion of the combined resonator/radiator, wherein the first portion of the combined resonator/radiator is coupled to the RF circuit;
- and
- a first substrate coupled to the module, the first substrate comprising:
- a second portion of the combined resonator/radiator, wherein the second portion of the combined resonator/radiator is fabricated externally to the module.
A radio frequency (RF) apparatus having a partitioned antenna structure comprising a resonator and a radiator, the RF apparatus comprising:
- a module, comprising:
- an RF circuit;
- a resonator, wherein the resonator is coupled to the RF circuit;
- and
- a first portion of the radiator, wherein the first portion of the radiator is coupled to the resonator;
- and
- a substrate coupled to the module, the substrate comprising a second portion of the radiator, wherein the second portion of the radiator is fabricated externally to the module.
