Building security system with false alarm reduction recommendations and automated self-healing for false alarm reduction

A method for preventing a false alarm that occurs at a building by one or more processing circuits, the method comprising:

• receiving, by the one or more processing circuits, building data comprising events for building devices;
• determining, by the one or processing circuits, based on the events, whether a false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule indicates relationships between one or more of the events that is indicative of a situation at the building site that causes the false alarm;
• generating, by the one or more processing circuits, a parameter update for at least one of the building devices in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule is associated with a recommendation for preventing the false alarm from occurring;
• implementing, by the one or more processing circuits, the parameter update by providing a command to the at least one of the building devices to implement the parameter update;
• providing, by the one or more processing circuits, the recommendation to a user via a user device in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the recommendation indicates the parameter update;
• filtering, by the one or more processing circuits, the recommendation based on a set of filter parameters to determine whether the recommendation is approved for automatic implementation or requires manual approval, wherein the set of filter parameters indicate a first recommendation list that indicates a first plurality of recommendations that can be automatically implemented without user approval and a second recommendation list that includes a second plurality of recommendations that require user approval;
• automatically implementing, by the one or more processing circuits, the recommendation in response to determining that the recommendation is approved for automatic implementation by determining that the recommendation is associated with the first recommendation list;
• and
• providing, by the one or more processing circuits, via a user interface, a prompt to a user to approve the recommendation in response to determining that the recommendation requires manual approval by determining that the recommendation is associated with the second recommendation list.

A non-transitory computer readable medium having machine instructions stored therein, the instructions being executable by a processor of a building management system to perform operations comprising:

• receiving building data comprising events for building devices;
• determining, based on the events, whether a false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule indicates relationships between one or more of the events that is indicative of a situation at the building that causes a false alarm, wherein the false alarm rule is associated with a recommendation for preventing the false alarm from occurring;
• generating a parameter update for at least one of the of building devices in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered;
• implementing the parameter update by providing a command to the at least one of the building devices to implement the parameter update;
• and
• providing the recommendation to a user via a user device in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the recommendation indicates the parameter update;
• filtering the recommendation based on a set of filter parameters to determine whether the recommendation is approved for automatic implementation or requires manual approval, wherein the set of filter parameters indicate a first recommendation list that indicates a first plurality of recommendations that can be automatically implemented without user approval and a second recommendation list that includes a second plurality of recommendations that require user approval;
• automatically implementing the recommendation in response to determining that the recommendation is approved for automatic implementation by determining that the recommendation is associated with the first recommendation list;
• and
• providing, via a user interface, a prompt to a user to approve the recommendation in response to determining that the recommendation requires manual approval by determining that the recommendation is associated with the second recommendation list.

A system for preventing a false alarm that occurs at a building, the system comprising:

• a communications circuit configured to receive building data from building devices associated with the building, wherein the building data comprises events;
• and
• a processing circuit configured to:
• receive, via the communications circuit, the building data comprising the events for the building devices;
• determine, based on the events, whether a false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule indicates relationships between one or more of the events that is indicative of a situation at the building that causes the false alarm;
• generate a parameter update for at least one of the building devices in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered;
• implement the parameter update by providing, via the communications circuit, a command to the at least one of the building devices to implement the parameter update;
• determine a number of security phone calls to the building and a number of missed security phone calls to the building based on the building data;
• determine a number of police dispatches associated with the false alarm and the missed security phone calls;
• generate an indication of an improved call tree structure for the building by comparing a call tree structure of the building to call tree structures of other buildings in response to determining that the number of police dispatches associated with the false alarm and the missed security phone calls is greater than a predefined amount;
• cause a recommendation to include the indication of the improved call tree structure;
• and
• provide the recommendation to a user via a user device in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule is associated with the recommendation for preventing the false alarm from occurring.

A method for preventing a false alarm that occurs at a building, the method comprising:

• receiving, by a processing circuit, the building data comprising the events for the building devices;
• determining, by the processing circuit, based on the events, whether a false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule indicates relationships between one or more of the events that is indicative of a situation at the building that causes the false alarm;
• generating, by the processing circuit, a parameter update for at least one of the building devices in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered;
• and
• implementing, by the processing circuit, the parameter update by providing, via the communications circuit, a command to the at least one of the building devices to implement the parameter update;
• determining, by the processing circuit, a number of security phone calls to the building and a number of missed security phone calls to the building based on the building data;
• determining, by the processing circuit, a number of police dispatches associated with the false alarm and the missed security phone calls;
• generating, by the processing circuit, an indication of an improved call tree structure for the building by comparing a call tree structure of the building to call tree structures of other buildings in response to determining that the number of police dispatches associated with the false alarm and the missed security phone calls is greater than a predefined amount;
• causing, by the processing circuit, a recommendation to include the indication of the improved call tree structure;
• and
• providing, by the processing circuit, the recommendation to a user via a user device in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule is associated with the recommendation for preventing the false alarm from occurring.

A method for preventing a false alarm that occurs at a building, the method comprising:

• receiving, by a processing circuit, building data from building devices associated with the building, wherein the building data comprises events, wherein the building devices comprises a battery powered device powered by a battery and a main power source;
• determining, by the processing circuit, based on the events, whether a false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule indicates relationships between one or more of the events that is indicative of a situation at the building that causes the false alarm, wherein the false alarm rule is a battery replacement false alarm rule and determining, by the processing circuit, based on the events, whether the false alarm rule has been triggered comprises determining, based on the events, whether the battery replacement false alarm rule has triggered for the battery powered device;
• generating, by the processing circuit, based on historical battery powered device data, a probability distribution identifying a probability for a time length between a main power failure event and a low battery event in response to the battery replacement false alarm rule triggering for the battery powered device, wherein the historical battery powered device data indicates a plurality of times between the main power failure event and the low battery event;
• generating, by the processing circuit, a replacement time window based on the probability distribution;
• causing, by the processing circuit, a recommendation to include an indication of the replacement time window, wherein the false alarm rule is associated with the recommendation for preventing the false alarm from occurring;
• generating, by the processing circuit, a parameter update for at least one of the building devices in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered;
• implementing, by the processing circuit, the parameter update by providing, via the communications circuit, a command to the at least one of the building devices to implement the parameter update;
• and
• providing, by the processing circuit, the recommendation to a user via a user device in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered.

A system for preventing a false alarm that occurs at a building, the system comprising one or more memory devices configured to store instructions there on that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:

• receive building data comprising events for building devices;
• determine based on the events, whether a false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule indicates relationships between one or more of the events that is indicative of a situation at the building that causes the false alarm;
• generate a parameter update for at least one of the building devices in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the false alarm rule is associated with a recommendation for preventing the false alarm from occurring;
• implement the parameter update by providing a command to the at least one of the building devices to implement the parameter update;
• provide the recommendation to a user via a user device in response to determining that the false alarm rule has triggered, wherein the recommendation indicates the parameter update;
• filter the recommendation based on a set of filter parameters to determine whether the recommendation is approved for automatic implementation or requires manual approval, wherein the set of filter parameters indicate a first recommendation list that indicates a first plurality of recommendations that can be automatically implemented without user approval and a second recommendation list that includes a second plurality of recommendations that require user approval;
• automatically implement the recommendation in response to determining that the recommendation is approved for automatic implementation by determining that the recommendation is associated with the first recommendation list;
• and
• provide via a user interface, a prompt to a user to approve the recommendation in response to determining that the recommendation requires manual approval by determining that the recommendation is associated with the second recommendation list.
