Abstract
A method of operation of an information linking system includes: locating an object with an identification icon; scanning the identification icon with a device; determining an access key by analyzing the identification icon; and retrieving at least a general availability level from a plurality of selective information levels of an object information file and additional information levels authorized by the access key for displaying on the device.

A method of operation of an information linking system comprising:
- locating an object with an identification icon;
- scanning optically coded information from the identification icon with a device;
- locating an alignment structure, in the optically coded information, for locating an identification code, a graphical identification region, an information access code, and a surrounding context code;
- determining an access key by analyzing the identification code, the graphical identification region, the information access code and the surrounding context code;
- and
- retrieving at least a general availability level from a plurality of selective information levels of an object information file and additional information levels authorized by the access key for displaying on the device, wherein the general availability level of the object information file, about the object, is displayed without restriction.

- an identification icon instantiated on an object;
- and
- a device configured to:
- scan the identification icon,
- locate an alignment structure, in the optically coded information, for locating an identification code, a graphical identification region, an information access code, and a surrounding context code;
- determine an access key by analyzing the identification code, the graphical identification region, the information access code, and the surrounding context code, and
- retrieve at least a general availability level from a plurality of selective information levels of an object information file and additional information levels authorized by the access key for displaying on the device, wherein the general availability level of the object information file, about the object, is displayed without restriction.
