Abstract
There is described herein methods and system for correcting steady state errors in propeller speed by calculating a leakage flow rate as a function of engine and propeller parameters.
Claims18
A computer-implemented method for metering oil flow to a propeller of an engine, the method comprising:
- receiving engine parameters and propeller parameters at a propeller control system;
- estimating, at the propeller control system, a leakage flow rate as a function of the engine parameters and the propeller parameters;
- applying the leakage flow rate to an oil flow request to obtain a compensated oil flow request;
- and
- outputting the compensated oil flow request to an oil metering unit of the propeller.

- a processing unit;
- and
- a non-transitory memory communicatively coupled to the processing unit and comprising computer-readable program instructions executable by the processing unit for:
- receiving engine parameters and propeller parameters at a propeller control system;
- estimating, at the propeller control system, a leakage flow rate as a function of the engine parameters and the propeller parameters;
- applying the leakage flow rate to an oil flow request to obtain a compensated oil flow request;
- and
- outputting the compensated oil flow request to an oil metering unit of the propeller.
