A compound comprising Formula I:
- and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, solvates, hydrates, and polymorphs thereof, wherein:
- R1 is substituted or unsubstituted amino, amidinyl, guanidinyl, protonated amidinyl, protonated guanidinyl, protonated amidinyl sulfide, aminoguanidinyl, thiophenyl, ethyl amidinyl, methyl amidinium sulfide, or pyridinyl, wherein R1 may form a ring with R2;
- R2 is H or a bridging group that forms the ring with R1;
- R3 is a stable radical that permits NO to be given off as a radical when the compound interacts with reactive oxygen species.
A compound comprising Formula I:
- and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, solvates, hydrates, and polymorphs thereof,
- wherein R1 comprises amidinium, nitroguanidinium, thiopheneamidinium, methyl amidinium sulfide, 2-amino-4-methylpyridinyl, aminopyridine, amidinyl, thiophenylamidinyl, or amino;
- wherein R1 may form a ring with R2;
- R2 is H or a bridging group that forms the ring with R1;
- R3 is a stable radical that permits NO to be given off as a radical when the compound interacts with reactive oxygen species.
A compound comprising formula (10) and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, solvates, hydrates, and polymorphs thereof, having Formula (10):
A compound comprising formula (16) and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, solvates, hydrates, and polymorphs thereof, having Formula (16):
A compound comprising formula (22) and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, solvates, hydrates, and polymorphs thereof, having Formula (22):
A compound comprising formula (28) and salts, stereoisomers, racemates, solvates, hydrates, and polymorphs thereof, having Formula (28):
