Abstract
Provided are a novel synthesis technique for producing a metal promoted aluminosilicate zeolite having a small pore framework comprising the step of reacting a synthesis gel comprising at least one promoter metal containing zeolite, a structure directing agent and an optional additional silica source; and methods of using the same.

A method of synthesizing a metal promoted aluminosilicate zeolite catalyst having a small pore framework comprising the step of reacting a synthesis gel comprising at least one promoter metal containing zeolite, a structure directing agent (SDA) and an optional additional silica source at a temperature of at least about 100° C. until crystals of the small pore framework zeolite catalyst form;
- wherein the zeolite catalyst crystals have a mean crystal size of about 0.1 μm to about 10 μm;
- and
- wherein the promoter metal is copper.
