Abstract
An apparatus captures an image of a measuring instrument that is captured by an imaging apparatus, sets an area in the image as an edge detection processing target in response to a user operation, and executes edge detection processing on the set area in the image. Further, the image processing apparatus sets a value for correcting a position of a detected edge portion. The image processing apparatus corrects the position of the detected edge portion based on the set value and calculates a value indicated by a pointer of the measuring instrument according to the corrected position of the edge portion.
Claims21
An apparatus comprising:
- an acquisition unit configured to acquire an image of a measuring instrument that is captured by an imaging apparatus;
- a first setting unit configured to set an area in the image as an edge detection processing target in response to a user operation;
- a detection unit configured to execute edge detection processing on the set area in the image;
- a second setting unit configured to set a value for correcting a position of a detected edge portion;
- a correction unit configured to correct the position of the detected edge portion based on the value;
- and
- a calculation unit configured to calculate a value indicated by a pointer of the measuring instrument according to the corrected position of the detected edge portion.
A method of controlling an apparatus comprising:
- acquiring an image of a measuring instrument that is captured by an imaging apparatus;
- setting an area in the image as an edge detection processing target in response to a user operation;
- executing edge detection processing on the set area in the image;
- setting a value for correcting a position of a detected edge portion;
- correcting the position of the detected edge portion based on the value;
- and
- calculating a value indicated by a pointer of the measuring instrument according to the corrected position of the edge portion.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program of instructions for causing a computer to perform a method comprising:
- acquiring an image of a measuring instrument that is captured by an imaging apparatus;
- setting an area in the image as an edge detection processing target in response to a user operation;
- executing edge detection processing on the set area in the image;
- setting a value for correcting a position of a detected edge portion;
- correcting the position of the detected edge portion based on the value;
- and
- calculating a value indicated by a pointer of the measuring instrument according to the corrected position of the edge portion.
An apparatus comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory storing a program which, when executed by the processor, causes the apparatus to:
- acquire an image of a measuring instrument that is captured by an imaging apparatus;
- set an area in the image as an edge detection processing target in response to a user operation;
- execute edge detection processing on the set area in the image;
- set a value for correcting a position of a detected edge portion;
- correct the position of the detected edge portion based on the value;
- and
- calculate a value indicated by a pointer of the measuring instrument according to the corrected position of the detected edge portion.
