Abstract
Pharmaceutical formulations of tetrahydrocurcumin and liposomes are described herein. The liposomes may comprise at least a first lipid, wherein the first lipid is a phospholipid or polyenylphosphatidylcholine are also disclosed.
Claims15
A method of protecting a kidney, the method comprising orally administering to a subject in need thereof a pharmaceutical formulation comprising:
- deuterated tetrahydrocurcumin at greater than natural isotopic abundance of deuterium;
- a liposome encapsulating the tetrahydrocurcumin, the liposome comprising at least a first lipid, wherein the first lipid is polyenylphosphatidylcholine;
- and
- a lipophilic solvent, wherein the subject has a disorder selected from kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, or polycystic kidney disease.
