Abstract
A decanter arranged to permit storage of wine or other beverage while isolated from ambient air and employing a variable size beverage storage volume. A valve may control flow past a piston as the piston is moved relative to a container to adjust a size of the beverage storage volume.
Claims26
A decanter, comprising:
- a container having an internal volume arranged to hold a beverage;
- a piston having a portion that is receivable in the internal volume of the container and movable relative to the container to define a beverage storage volume that is variable based on a position of the piston relative to the container;
- and
- a valve coupled to the piston and configured to control flow of fluid past the piston to or from the beverage storage volume, the valve being arranged to allow beverage to flow from the beverage storage volume through the valve for dispensing to a user's cup.
